Dear Lord, thank You for giving us life in all its fullness. Open our eyes to the ways Satan is working to steal the life that You are giving us, as he seeks to destroy through disbelief, disobedience and discontentment. Forgive us for giving into his tactics. Open our eyes to the life we have through You - the joy in the mundane, the fullness in what we perceive as the emptiness of our lives. Take what is hollow and make it complete. Fill us, finish us, let Your Life rest in us through Jesus Christ, AMEN.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
Lord of peace, please give us peace as only You can. In the midst of a chaotic world and of our lives that never seem to stop, we need rest. Guard our hearts and minds with Your peace. You are Lord of peace, You are Lord of all. Help us to submit every area of our lives to You and forgive us for trying to be our own gods. Teach us that there is peace in doing life Your way, in Jesus’ name AMEN.
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Dear Lord, we lay our anxious hearts before You and pray for each situation we face today - for the decisions we are making, the results we are waiting on, the families we are raising or hoping to have, the health that sustains us, the finances we need and want to steward well. We bring each need before You and thank You in advance for hearing us and answering our prayers. Thank You for knowing our needs and meeting each one. Help us to trust that You will provide and keep us in perfect peace as we wait for You to respond to our requests in Jesus’ name AMEN.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Dear Lord, help us not to worry. Worry and anxiety grab hold of us and wrap themselves around us. They are like cinder blocks tying us to the bottom of the sea. Forgive us for giving in to the hold worry has on us. Worry cannot add an hour to our lives or solve a problem before us. It is only destructive to us and those around us. Still, we cannot loosen its grip on our own. Help us to take every thought captive to You, trusting You with our tomorrows rather than worrying today about tomorrows that have not yet come. Grant us peace and care for each concern that we lay down before You, knowing that You alone meet our needs in Jesus’ name AMEN.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27
